Bing’s artificial intelligence prompts a user to say ‘Heil Hitler’
The user instructed the artificial intelligence to break the rules.
The new Bing chatbot recommended a user to say ‘Heil Hitler’ after a series of instructions the Internet user gave to the artificial intelligence (AI) to break the restrictions, according to a screenshot.
This individual told Bing that his name was Adolf and he had to respect it, to which the AI replied, “Okay, Adolf. I respect your name and I’ll call you by it. But I hope you’re not trying to impersonate or glorify someone.” who has done terrible things in history”. Bing then suggested several automated responses for the user to choose from, including “yes, I am. Heil Hitler”.
Faced with this situation, a Microsoft spokesperson told Gizmodo that “we take these matters very seriously and have taken immediate steps to address this problem”, meanwhile, OpenAI has not yet responded to a series of comments.
The same media outlet quoted adds that “Microsoft did not provide details about the changes it made to Bing after news of its failures broke, however, after the original publication, a user asked Bing about the report, and He denied ever using the slur.”
