In a meeting held recently with the representatives of consultancy company Deloitte India, to make the state’s economy one trillion dollars, CM Yogi had instructed to prepare an action plan for setting up five education townships in the state.

With this, students will get all types of education in one place. Along with this, they will also be able to get training in different types of skills.

Built on the idea of ’Single Entry, Multiple Exit’, the focus of this township will be on high-class education, which will also attract students from other Central Asian countries.

The role of the private sector will be important in this education township. In this, prestigious government and private universities of the country and the world will be able to open their campus. Along with this, there will also be primary schools and secondary schools like Atal Residential School in the same place.

A university will be established for undergraduate studies. In this, there will be studies and research of courses related to management, technology, law, and medicine.

Skill University will open for skill development

Many other coaching institutes like Abhyudaya will also be started in these education townships so that more and more students can be successful in competitive examinations like NEET, IIT, Union Public Service Commission, etc. to be held in the country and the state.

There will also be a provision of accommodation for students and teachers in this township. Apart from this, skill universities will also be opened for the skill development of youth, where youth will be given training in different types of skills.

Developed countries have such a system

There is such a system in the US city of Pittsburgh. At the same time, there are such facilities in the Knowledge City in Dubai, UAE, and Knowledge Village in Sharjah, where there are campuses of prestigious universities in many countries of the world.

With the introduction of the ‘Single Entry, Multiple Exit’ system in the state, students will get a cheap and good education here, which will make it much easier for the youth to start jobs or self-employment after studies. This will also attract students from all over the world to come here.

What do academics say?

Yogi government’s idea of an education township has been welcomed by many educationists in the country. Among them, Professor Manoj Dixit, Vice-Chairman of the National Board of Education and former Vice-Chancellor of Ram Manohar Lohia University, says that the concept of Educational Township will further strengthen the foundation of India’s National Education Policy.

Not only India, but all the developing and underdeveloped countries of the world are looking at our national education policy with hope. This cheap education will fulfill the concept of a good education.

According to Professor Dr. Rakesh Upadhyay, Founder Chair of the Center for Bharat Studies at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), facilities from nursery to higher education to research in different subjects will be available at one place in the educational township. Such a system is already in place in some developed countries.

At present, the number of foreign students is increasing rapidly in India. Greater Noida of UP is emerging as its big center. The concept of Educational Township in UP is unique to India.
